The screen you land on after typing one username

What it will not do

It never opens the account itself.

No chats, no logins, no password of theirs. The lookup reads the order of their circle and then stops.

It follows their week, not your guess.

Snapchat keeps the order fresh as people snap, so a quiet week moves names around. You see where they stand right now, not who they liked back in March.

Say that out loud before you look, and the result won't shock you.

Why an order exists at all

Every snap between two people gets counted. Snapchat keeps the tally running and sorts each person's friends by it, which is how your own Best Friends shelf fills itself without you ever picking a name. The same tally sits behind their account. SpySnap asks for the order it produced and hands it straight back to you.

That is why the yellow heart lands on one person and no one else: it is arithmetic, not a promise.

More detail

Snapchat caps the shelf at eight people and refreshes it as the snapping shifts. The marks beside a name follow the same count: a smiling face for one of your Best Friends, a yellow heart when you are each other's first, a red one when that lasts for two weeks. Snapchat's own help pages say the shelf is private, which is the very reason a lookup exists.

The small print

What does SpySnap keep on me?

The username you type for a lookup, for as long as the lookup is running. Nothing is kept under your name, because you never gave one to us.

Do you ask for my Snapchat password as well?

No. There is nowhere on this site to type one, and anyone who asks you for it is after the account itself, not the list.

Does the person I look up find out about it?

Nothing is sent to them by SpySnap. The lookup does not touch their account or show up anywhere inside it.

Who else sees the result?

The screen you are reading it on. It is not sold, posted or given to the people named in it.
